About This

You meet the most interesting people when you go digging around for information about deceased relatives. The more boat rocking an individual did, the easier it seems to be able to find them under the pile of dead relations. After all, the well behaved quiet ones don't usually get kicked out of anything or get arrested, leaving legend and legal paperwork in their paths.

I don't rely on a lot of sources that I've found on the internet. People tend to want to keep the more attractive truths as fact, resulting in a lot of misinformation on genealogy sites. Think of it as a giant game of Telephone when one person whispers something to the person sitting next to them passing it on to the next and at the end the truth is a whole new fact. This research of "fact" has become a huge factor in my stumbling onto some really neat relatives by accident.

We are descended from some very brave people, some extremely good people, a lot of politicians, people who were born into the right place at the right time, a ton of mold breakers stepping out of their comfort zone, a couple of religious zealots (Saltzbergers and Pilgrims and Huguenots oh my!), some historical or near historical figures and some out right criminals. And one in show business. I can't believe there is just one.

Here I give you the humans of my family tree, one individual story at a time.I will do my best to provide documents and landmarks and photos and graveside portraits with the intention to celebrate the real people as they were who made my family who they are now.
